Terms of Service (draft)

BallotGuard is an independent analysis of publicly viewable IReV uploads. It is not affiliated with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Nothing in the product is an official result, an INEC announcement, or a collation. These terms are a draft for counsel. They are not a commercial offer and they are not legal advice.

No presentation as an official result

You may not present, caption, or distribute a compilation, export, flag, or evidence package as an official result or as an INEC document. Exports carry a banner that the file is an independent compilation as of a timestamp and is not an official result. Removing that banner to imply official status is a misuse of the service.

No harassment

You may not use polling-unit data, observer notes, or flags to harass, threaten, dox, or incite harm against voters, officials, party agents, candidates, or observers. Observer notes are unverified and must not be republished as established fact.

No resale without a licence

You may not resell, sublicense, or republish bulk downloads, evidence packages, or the underlying compilation as a data product except under a written licence from the operator. A paid seat is for the named account. Sharing a seat to avoid that licence is outside these terms.

Access

National coverage and headline totals are public. State and local-government breakdowns, polling-unit sheets, flags, filters, alerts, and downloads require prepaid credits. One credit unlocks one polling-unit sheet for one election. Opening that sheet again is free. Credits expire 12 months after purchase. Seats on a pack share one wallet. Entitlements are enforced on the server.
